This camera records to SD cards, and can also record to an external recorder like the Atomos Ninja or Shogun 7. Using an external recorder opens up some further possibilities in terms of file format, colour and recording time.
Continuous relay recording for up to 13 hours is possible on this camera using SD cards (to do this, under REC SET, select RELAY REC instead of SIMUL REC before recording). This feature does not work if you are using the Slow, Super Slow or Quick Motion modes. You will need to transfer the data and empty one of the SD cards before re-inserting it to continue recording. see manual pg. 39 for details.
