Atomos Shogun 7 video recorder
Description
The Shogun 7 is a bright (3000 nits) video field monitor / recorder / switcher. The touch screen has 1920 x 1280 resolution. It can be powered by NP-F batteries or using a provided AC adapter. It can be mounted on a standard 1/4" screw. It can record to Apple ProRes RAW, ProRes, Avid DNx & Adobe CinemaDNG RAW (up to 30p only). It can record at 4K DCI (Cinema 4K), 4K UHD, 2K DCI and 1080p resolutions (this will also depend on the camera or input source you use).
There's a noticeable fan noise - keep this in mind if you are recording audio.
Firmware version: 10.4.1 (includes switching capability - see the video at https://www.atomos.com/firmware/shogun-7 for more information)
1 x HDMI input and output
4 x SDI inputs (2 x 12G, 2 x 3G) - note: SDI input 1 is also used as SDI output 2
2 x SDI outputs (12G) - note: SDI output 2 is also used as SDI input 1
1 x BNC genlock
1 x 10-pin LEMO XLR/Mic input (note: CFAT does not yet have an XLR -> LEMO adapter. The 10-pin LEMO adapter would accept 2 XLR input cables)
1 x 1/8" headphone output
1 x LANC input (micro 2.5mm) for remote (not included)
The Shogun 7 can record multiple discrete camera streams, providing XML file that you can import into an editing program that should contain all the switching edits you had performed using the Shogun's touch screen (we haven't tested this yet). Theoretically, you can then re-edit the live switching you had done.
